The Veterans' Employment-Related Assistance Program (VEAP)
This resource guide was produced under the Veterans' Employment-Related Assistance Program (VEAP) and
is for use by all veterans. The Veterans' Employment-Related Assistance Program (VEAP) pilot project is
a collaborative program involving local service agencies, employers, and the Alameda County Workforce
Investment Board (WIB). The goals of the program are to 1) assist recently separated service members in
securing employment, and 2) ascertain the employment needs of separating veterans. To be eligible or the
program you must have received you DD214 from the United States Armed Forces, Active Reserves or National
Guard within the past 48 months.
The services available to eligible veterans include Job Search Workshops, Computer Literacy, Assessment
Testing, Skills Assessment, Resume Writing, Job Clubs, Labor Market Information, Career Counseling,
Vocational Classroom Training (ITA), On-The-Job Training (OJT), Customized Employer-based Training, Job
Placement Mentoring and Post-placement Follow-up. In addition, the project will provide support services,
increase marketing of veterans to employers and support EASTBAY Works continuous improvement efforts by
enhancing veteran services via the One-Stop system.
